GuestsBoard vs STR TV: guest guide or streaming experience?
By GuestsBoard
Start with the job you need the screen to do. GuestsBoard focuses on your property guide, displayed through Raspberry Pi hardware, with an included QR-accessible phone concierge. STR TV combines hospitality content with a managed entertainment experience. If scheduled TV wake and streaming-account cleanup are essential, STR TV belongs on your shortlist.

See GuestsBoard pricing and STR TV pricing. STR TV also lists optional $150 white-glove setup and a separate optional $150 custom splash video. Its annual page shows $239.80 billed annually alongside $19.99/month, a small arithmetic discrepancy. Use the checkout total rather than calculating an annual commitment from the displayed monthly rate. Its representative describes property-based TV coverage in the OwnerRez announcement.
As of October 25, 2026, GuestsBoard’s $499 TV bundle includes the configured Pi kit and one property’s first year from paid checkout, with no free trial. It renews at $205.20/property/year for the first 3 properties without a new kit. STR TV’s $75 device plus 12 months at $24.99 totals $374.88, before taxes, shipping, optional services and trial adjustments. These packages have different features and AI entitlements. The GuestsBoard SD kit retains separate monthly or annual billing after its 30-day trial. Count every display, power supply and cable you need, especially with the SD kit, and compare the setup for your actual property and screen count.
Decide how entertainment fits your stay
STR TV describes preconfigured Google TV hardware, HDMI connection, Wi-Fi and remote setup in its installation overview. Its product page advertises scheduled activation, locked settings, email capture, upsells and cleanup of selected streaming apps at checkout. Confirm the specific apps and television model you use; selected-app cleanup should not be read as a guarantee covering every service.
GuestsBoard is a different setup to evaluate: your house instructions, Wi-Fi details, recommendations and guest information on a dedicated guide display. Do not choose it on an assumption that it replaces STR TV’s streaming management. This comparison covers the Raspberry Pi setup currently offered through our ordering page. Check compatibility before ordering.
Try the guide and the arrival routine
For the Pi setup, GuestsBoard’s included phone concierge opens from a screen QR code on the property Wi-Fi. Local device connectivity and internet access for AI answers are required. Usage has a configured allowance, visible in your dashboard. STR TV’s use of “concierge” for its content does not establish a conversational-AI entitlement; ask before including one in your comparison.
Open the demo and judge the design from guest viewing distance. Test arrival, an extended reservation, checkout, a power restart and internet loss on your intended equipment. Ask both providers what guests see during each step. Prefer GuestsBoard when its property guide and content approach suit you; prefer STR TV when its entertainment controls solve the problem you need handled.
Explore the GuestsBoard demo and ask about your setup before choosing hardware.
